Our YA Book Club was founded in late 2020, during the pandemic. We started meeting in person in the spring of 2021. This club discusses Young Adult novels rated for ages 14 and up, and tries to stick to standalone books if we can help it. The YA Book Club meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7pm.
We currently have about 10 members. We welcome all adults and teens with a love of YA novels and stories to join us.
The YA Book Club reads 10 books a year. In May, our topic is Open Book Talks. Each member brings a couple of titles they really enjoyed in the past year and talks about them for a few minutes. It's a great way to add books to your TBR pile. In December, we host a Holiday Party for our current book club members, during which we vote on our favorite book of the year.

Teens ages 14 and up are always welcome to attend. Any teen under the age of 14 may attend with parental permission on file.
Please note that the YA novels we discuss may contain themes and situations that may not be suitable for readers under the age of 14.
Some of our past books have dealt with or included topics such as sexual assault, drugs, drinking, murder, death, violence, sexism, cussing, gaslighting, illicit adoption, racism, and discrimination. While we try to avoid any novels with gratuitous sexual scenes or violence, we nevertheless acknowledge that many of these issues (yes, even the fantasy and dystopian issues) can be part of teen life, and should therefore merit discussion.
